Ordered 6 and though they came in time, water was very cloudy and 4 of 6 dead with the remaining 2 on death's door. Contacted Joe's Aqua with pictures. Response was quick. They were sending 5 more. I had to wait until they got more in, but the five that came today are vigorous with good color and really long fins. I ended up saving one of the original 2, so in the end it came out roses.

8/10 have died…. Most in the first 3 days. All my other plecos in the two tanks are just fine. Meaning my fish are healthy. I should have known at 6$ for this type of fish it was too good to be true. Absolutely insane that these fish were sent out with red rash marks and sunken bellys.

The first picture is the picture show a on the website. The second picture is my own stock to show I do know how to take care of these plecos. And the last pictures are the skinny dying plecos I got. Day one, noticed one was covered in red rash and sunken belly. Died Got refunded. In the following week I lost 5 more… all with sunken bellys and skinny. I tried to post a review before and I don’t see it so I’m making another one. I have the feeling it was never published… What happen is some guy getting paid 11$ a hour who doesn’t care took a fish net, took a swing into the tank, counted to 10, and shipped them to me…. Because there’s no way these fish lost alll that weight in the few days I had them before they died…. They were shipped that way. The remaining plecos look okay but god knows if they are sick or not… I should have know that at 6$ a fish it was too good to be true. Terrible fish. Absolutely trash. The shrimp I ordered came in fine. But the plecos suck.

Well, I’ve lost 6/10 that I purchased so far. 4 in the first 48 hours. Just to be safe I placed the 10 plecos into 5 tanks all with fully cycled systems and also other smaller or equal sized plecos. I noticed on the first day one had red rash and a sunken belly and it died later on that night. I send an email and was refunded. I spent the next 4 hours catching the other 9 plecos and gave them individual examinations and seen 3 that absolutely should not have been shipped but rather put into a hospital tank because of how skinny they were. Still I put them back in seeing that they were indeed eating zucchini and green beans. Over the next week one by one most of them have died. I have 3 that are doing great and nice and plump size, one that I’m given a 50-50 chance. I also ordered 20 bee shrimp and those are all doing great! Only the plecos out of my order have been problematic. But I should have figured at 6$ each there was a reason for such a great price. A real shame because the 3 that are doing good look amazing. I feel like some working getting paid 12$ who doesn’t care just put the bet in the water, counted to 10, and shipped them out. These Aiken belly’s don’t happen in a day or two, it takes a few weeks for them to get to the point I received them at. Buyer beware, make sure you specify that you wish the plecos to be looked at before sending. My mistake was not looking at each one the hour I opened the box but I didn’t think I would need to coming from this company.

One fish died within the first week. I discovered a second corpse yesterday. I haven't seen the third fish since Wednesday, so his status is up in the air. Truly, I think they were too small because I have two other older juveniles in the tank. I think they killed the new smaller fish. So it has not been a positive experience through no fault of Joe's Aquarium.

The plecos are great, arrived packaged extremely well and healthy. Highly recommend!!

nice long fins, but several have brown markings which means they arent true lemons anymore as lemons should have no pigment cells.

Blue eyed pleco came in strong and healthy. We had a bit of a mishap which is why you see a dark spot on his face. Nevertheless, after 2 weeks he’s doing well (thank goodness!)

I have an adult pair of blue eyed lemon long fin plecos. Unfortunately after the 2nd spawn, the male died. I searched for an adult male but was not successful. I went to plant B, which was to buy a few juveniles and raise them up hoping to have a male. I purchased a 5 pack from Joe's Aqua. I was pleasantly surprised when I received them as these were at least 2 inches to 2.5 inches. This is great when you receive fish that is slightly bigger than what is described. Also, Joe's Aqua is a pleasure to deal with since the cost of shipping is factored in the price of the fish thus I do not have to calculate what the eventual cost per fish landed to me is.

The fish came in non-uniform size, some of them smaller than others; and few can be considered as short fin. 20+1 came instead of 20+2 fish. But all good and expected if you buy fish in relatively large number. All arrived healty and the packaging is super neat. Free shipping is a WOW point for me. All fish arrived safe and were happy. We slowly acclimated the baby Blue Eyed, Long Finned, Lemon Bristle Nose Plecos over a period of about 45 minutes before releasing them into the aquarium. They were the perfect addition to my 125-gallon freshwater aquarium. Truthfully, I had been looking for these plecos for a few months, but asking prices exceeded $100 with shipping for a pair. Joe's Aqua was more then 30% less and have by far a better-quality fish. And everything was professionally packaged, and we received updates from both the shipping company and Joe's Aqua every step of the process.
